Life with a Psycho

"Oh, man you are a psycho!"

We randomly many times say this out of the blue. We might say this playfully or sometimes out of irritation to a perfectly mentally sound person. Psychotic behaviour or living with a psychologically ill person might change your perception. Not every crazy person is a psychological ill patient and not every mentally disabled person is a crazy one.

The world is a bit different while you are associated to a psychotic person. You would have to bear with their tantrums, their behaviours, their dramas and all the other things that comes with them. You cannot go out or else you might be called out by the neighbours that your house is on fire. And in the same way, you cannot bring your friends and acquaintances home as you might be humiliated by the actions of psychologically ill person at your house.

The people who have psychology related problems need more attention at all times. You cannot work out of their comfort zone or you might bear the consequences. You might be woken up by them in the middle of the night while they are threatening to end your life. You never know what to expect next from the person and that is the toughest challenge of all.

You might have attended so many counselling sessions with them that now you yourself are an expert in counselling people. Your life is restricted to just one small world of you and the psychologically affected person. Society takes these patients as a social stigma that is against their virtual world knit by religions and other social factors.

These people lack the support of the society and thus, sometimes can be the bearers of upheaval of the array of societies themselves. Many patients who are not given proper care and attention to, can turn out to be a threat to us eventually. Instead of fearing these kind of people or leaving them all alone, we should at least try to be there for them in their need. Maybe they just want to be heard. Maybe they just want to show. Maybe they just want to be seen. Maybe that is why, their minds get wired differently as compared to us.

Even a minor psychological problem like depression can play a major role in defining the environment of those around the victim. So, just take these people along with you and not leave them behind in the league due to mental illness. Let them make use of their differently abled mindset in positive sense rather than making it all negative. It could bring down a lot of crime rates too as most of the crimes happen where psychologically affected

victims are involved.
