The Fantasy World of Chandrakanta remade again by Balaji

Balaji Telefilms is offering its viewers a new fantasy show called Chandrakanta, based upon Devki Nandan's novel. It would have a world premiere on 24th June and would be telecasted for two hours every weekend on Colors Tv. For the promotional announcement, the star cast, Madhurima Tulli aka Chandrakanta and Vishal Aditya Singh aka Prince Veer were in Chandigarh on Thursday.

Enter into a world of fantastical and magical land of Chandrakanta and Veer and know what their destinies have in for them. Quite different from the earlier namesake, TV show, this time Ekta Kapoor's team has a lot in store for their audience. Unlike other soap operas, this would be a variant touch from the era of bees and naagins related fantasies. Till now five episodes have been shot and sharing about their experience, both the actors gave an insight about what the viewers would get to see in new Chandrakanta. Vishal who is playing the character of Veer says, "Every character is a strong one in this. I play the character of Prince Veer opposite Chandrakanta where a story about love and revenge simultaneously is displayed." About being compared to the character of Bahubali, he gets overwhelmed, "Bahubali was a great movie and the character was fantastic. It is my pleasure and I would be proud if people would think so." Did they have to prepare hard for their respective roles? Both agree to the fact. They tell us that they follow a strict routine with proper diet and exercise combined with the 12 hours of daily shoot that they go through every day. Also, for their roles and to prepare extremely hard for it, Vishal and Madhurima bespoke about the TV series and films that they saw like Game of Thrones, 300, Gladiator and much more. Also, both of the actors would also be seen sword fighting with each other in the show. "I read too." Madhurima lets us know in a candid way. "I am a fan of Amish and read 'The Immortals of Meluha' of Shiva Trilogy recently. Now, waiting for the next book 'Sita' from his calibre." She further lets us know about the serial, "My character is not feminine kind, it is more of a warrior kind of character that sets it apart from other serials. Chandrakanta is brought up into a foster family and when she grown up to be 21, she realises she has magical powers and that is when Veer comes into the story, where he is sent to kill Chandrakanta bit somehow due to unforseen circumstances, they fall in love. I have been injured on the set once I was horse riding." Ekta's favorite, Urvashi Dholakia is also stepping back into the Tv world with this serial. She is playing the role of evil Princess Iravati who has taken over the empire of Chandrakanta. Madhurima says, "I haven't yet had a chance to share the scenes with her as we have been able to shoot only 5 episodes, but hopefully soon we would be seen together and I hope audience loves us." The actors also learned the art of sword fighting and the Hindi that was used in those times to give the serial a realistic feel. The VFX has been considered to focus upon by the Balaji team so as to give this fantasy series, a bit of realistic feel. Costumes, sets and makeup has also been created as such that would give the aura of the ancient kingdom.
