DT Mall, a small but sweet mall that every localite of the Tricity Chandigarh is well acquainted with. Those who have lived here have for once at least watched a movie or two in this mall. But today, we have an incident to narrate that we experienced first hand and that's definitely going to put you in two minds whether or not to go to the DT theatre or not.
The multiplex here that was run previously by the name of DT Cinemas was recently handed over to PVR Cinemas, a highly recommended Cinema for movie goers. But, the Hollywood movie experience was an absurd one.

We planned and went to watch IT, the horror movie whose first day first show was being played at 4.45pm in the evening. Everything was going on great as we had our interests made up in the movie. After around 50 minutes or so, the Audi 2 (thats where the movie was being screened) lights turn on and we are confused that if the Interval has come as its a Hollywood movie, no proper interval is there in Indian cinemas.
We wait for about 10 minutes and the movie which was still being played while the lights being on, stops and Intermission comes over the screen. Okay, people ignore this technical fault but were certainly talking around that what was going on. We come back to our seats during the interval with our popcorns (mind it, those were also mostly burned popcorns) and wait for the film to start as our interest had been made.

The movie starts but with a 5 minute reversal to the point where it first declared intermission. Okay, we go ignore that too. Again 10 minutes into the movie and the screen displays Interval and all the lights are on in the theatre again. Now, everyone was like really irritated. People started screaming about the unprofessionalism but the PVR staff wasn't able to get to know the source of the trouble. Again, the movie started but this time it showed no tobacco advertisements on loop for about 10 minutes. Then, finally we saw the film being played with a 10 minute reversal yet again to the last scene. It was like we are watching the film in a laptop that its reversing, stopping and continuing from any point of time. And yet again, Interval came written on the screen and this time it really agitated everyone.
I went up to the staff and mangers to ask whats wrong with the film? And also complained that its happening for the second time with us, first time it happened when we saw Baadshaho but did not report it as we genuinely believed that it was some minor fault. But, this time it got to our nerves.
I asked the manager that's Saurabh, that what is happening? And don't they check the movies being played here? Or dont they run a test trial? Because it really looked amateurish of the management to handle the situation. He repeatedly kept on saying that its a technical fault and we are getting on it. Another group of guys came up and asked for the refund of the tickets as this behavior of PVR wasted their time. But the staff refused and asked them to wait as the movie was being played any minute now.
We took our seats and with a blank screen, lights on and a hindi track that PVR was playing in the background, we ate our burned popcorns for which we regrettably did not complain. Finally, the screen came to life and the film started yet with 10 minute reversal but this time with Hindi track playing along with the visuals of IT! Imagine, our terrible state of shock! For 5 more minutes, this carried on and then was the whole movie played till the end but breaking our mood and flow into the movie.

Really, this was a horror experience more than the horror in the movie IT..! A terrible cinema experience is what DT Mall, PVR Cinemas is serving on its dish and definitely its worth ignoring guys! We have video and audio from the hellish experience that you must watch and hear!
