The Magical Night of Illumination
As we were getting out of the Diwali feels, another festival hit us around the corner where lights were again seen at homes and in Gurudwaras on Saturday. The country and abroad were bathed in the lights of faith yet again in compliance with Prakash Jayanti or we can say Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak's birthday.
Guru Nanak Gurpurab, also known as Guru Nanak's Prakash Utsav, celebrates the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak. This is one of the most sacred festivals in Sikhi. When even the B-town did not shy away from showing off their festivities on this auspicious day, Tricity too observed hoards of people visiting the Sikh temples to light up Diyas and candles.
Nagar Kirtans and langars could be seen in the city of Chandigarh and Mohali and people were doing voluntary Langar services in Gurudwaras across the Tricity. Not just India but Indians across the globe were washed away in the fervor of celebrating 548th Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj.
The November jitters were welcomed by the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji which was enthralling to the citizens. With all the lights illuminating from various sources on the propitious day, it seemed like a second Diwali hit home this season.
