Marijuana, since sometime has been a hot debacle for youngsters since a long time. Especially after many countries took to legalizing the plant, there have been various studies going on that declare it safe, healthy and having a lot of medical uses.

And now, a degree in Marijuana is what the next step in recognizing the plant's medicinal qualities. Northern Michigan University in a first, offers the students a degree in Marijuana but it's not that easy as to roll a paper. You got to study hard and take it as serious as any other degree.
Twenty-nine states, including Michigan, have legalized medical marijuana. Eight states and the District of Columbia have legalized small amounts of marijuana for adult use, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Forbes projects the sale of recreational marijuana to jump to $11.2 billion by 2020.

Several accredited colleges and universities offer credit and noncredit courses in marijuana. The University of California at Davis has an undergraduate course on the Physiology of Cannabis, the University of Denver offers a course on the Business of Marijuana and Vanderbilt’s law school has a Marijuana Law and Policy course. Oaksterdam University in Oakland calls itself America’s first cannabis college but offers a certificate rather than a college diploma, according to its website.
However, Northern Michigan University is the first one that offers an official degree in Marijuana. The degree obviously doesn't teach you how to roll a blunt or gives you the liberty to come high to the class. Instead it has a series of tough subjects like organic chemistry, plant physiology, botany, accounting, genetics, physical geography and financial management that needs focus to study. The University officials add that after the degree a student has a higher chance to land a job that instantly pays them a salary of about $70000 that is a totally whooping amount!
