A battle against corruption through words

"When we leave something behind then only do we realise it's value", this is what Gurpreet Kang, a France based NRI thinks about his mother tongue Punjabi. He shared his thoughts on his homeland and poems on the launch of his book, 'Do Mana Da Yudh'on on Tuesday in Chandigarh.


The book was unveiled by renowned Punjabi poet, Surjit Patar who also shared many ancedotes of his time with the media as he appreciated Kang's effort to create such remarkable verses which highlight the world's atrocities that too in Punjabi.


Patar added on, "Language nowadays is like a dress up. Like you are known for your language just like your clothing. I don't say languages like English are bad, but we should always be attached to our mother tongue and never feel ashamed of it."

About the theme of his book 'Do Mana Da Yudh', Gurpreet Kang says, "It covers a wide range of aspects like corruption, poverty, politics and betrayal that are plaguing our country in today's scenario. The book's compilation of about 70 verses out of my 600 poem collection are just to aware and express my thoughts on the social problems that I thought of fighting with my words."
