A day for FASTING, EARTHEN POTS and LONG LIVES
The day has finally come to an end when all the significant halves fasted for one whole day for the long lives of their life partners. Many saw the glimmer and sparkles around the city too on the day. Its like festivities have come up too early and we were certainly not ready for it.
Karwa Chauth literally meaning an earthen pot of water taken up on the fourth day of the dark- fortnight, or krishna paksh, of the month of Kartik is a festival that brings up fasting, love and bond between relationships in front of the eyes of people.

Not only do the women but men too observe the tradition and some of them follow the rituals along with their partner. Also, the transgenders community around India have been witnessed to join along the festivities and add their colors to it.
At night on Sukhna Lake at the time of moon rise, women were seen looking through the seive first and then on to their better halves completing their ceremonies and praying for longer love and lives with utmost togetherness.
