Pollywood to get a Punjabi Film City
Whenever there is a discussion for a film city in the Tricity area, the importance of such a film city is ignored. In a first, someone has taken up the initiative to set up a Film City in this area. In the lines of Ramoji, Mumbai, MGR and Noida film cities, one more is opening up in North India to be known as, 'RANCH'.
The location of th eFilm City is in Ropar Ditsrict and about 60 kms from Chandigarh. And
surprisingly, its foundation stone has been laid by S. Amardeep Singh Rai IPS, IGP Zone-1 of Patiala and renowned actor Gippy Grewal on 7th of December. This is the first of a kind in Punjab.
The film and music industry is already thriving and flourishing in Punjab and an addition like this would be a boon for Pollywood. Many aspring actors from the region would get a new platform to pursue the field of acting in a professional manner through this project.
Hobby Dhaliwal, who's the man behind it all is quite proud of this kind of project coming up in his area. He further adds on, "I believe this is going to lead to the growth of punjabi film industry's bussiness."
